We'd like to take this time to say THANKS to all our boosters that graciously contributed to the team this year. With all your donations we were able to travel to several out of state meets with the team.

If it wasn't for all the great donations received this year the ASU team would not have been able to continue the "DREAM" that was put into effect over 15 years ago. So again THANK YOU!

WHAT A GREAT MEET LAST FRIDAY….. If you were able to attend, you were one of over 2,200 that attended to watch the only Men's & Women’s College gymnastics meet in AZ this year. Lots’ of excitement and enthusiasm abounded and the gymnasts made a great showing. Unfortunately, both ASU teams lost to 2 really good teams (Stanford and Air Force), but some really great gymnastics on both sides.

The ASU team went up against William & Mary this past weekend here at Aspire Kids Sports Center. The crowd was entertained with some great gymnastics.

The team started off good and were ahead after the first two events by just 8 tenths of a point. William & Mary pulled ahead of ASU and after the fourth rotation ASU was down by 2.3 point. ASU pulled it together and rallied back to win the meet by just 5 tenths of a point.

Way to go Devils, we are very proud of you. There was some great competition going on and we hope that everyone enjoyed their time.

Coach Memories

It was a hard summer. Four months ago the ASU Gymnastics team lost two super talented and influential supporters. On June 17, Dr. Joe Schabacker passed away at age 91. For the past 40 years, Joe has been one of the biggest and most enthusiastic supporters of the ASU men’s team. He was not only a devoted booster of the team, he was one of Coach Robinson’s closest friends. Because of a fall that Coach had a few days prior to Joe’s death, Coach was unable to attend his friend’s funeral. Then just a short 17 days later, Coach Robinson passed away.

It's that time of year again for all our gymnasts to come together to show off their strength. The annual Strength Meet will be October 15, 2011 starting at 1:30 with the Level 4 and Beginner Boys showing off their stuff.

This year we hope to see every type and level of gymnasts come together to show off their stuff for their parents, grandparents and friends. Each gymnast will receive a t-shirt and compete for individual trophies and medals. It is a great way to get the new season off to a great start.
